ELLISTOWN................1 (Johnson 24) GEDLING MW.............2 (Corrigan 76, 79)
Supersub grabs the points
Never mind a game of “two halves” this was a game of the “last 15 minutes” Quite frankly the Miners were below par for the majority of this game and they had substitute Liam Corrigan to thank for salvaging 3 points from a contest that they looked like throwing away.
Manager Walker was forced into yet another defensive re-shuffle and also had strikers Matt Peberday and Stephen Cox injured.
Ellistown took an early lead on 24 through Robbie Johnson and that lead looked like securing the points until a forced change midway through the second half with Liam Corrigan coming on to replace Luke Smith. Within 10 minutes of his arrival Corrigan had drawn the sides level and barely three minutes later had doubled his tally to steal all three points.
9 wins out of 12 since the turn of the year for the Miners who can now aim for the big guns atop the table as the title run-in begins in earnest.
